How Much Does a Van Wrap Cost — and Is It Worth It?

It's almost always the first question we get once a contractor sees a wrap they like on someone else's truck: what does that actually cost? The honest answer is "it depends," but not in a vague way — a handful of specific factors do most of the work in setting the final price.

What Actually Drives the Price

Coverage is the biggest factor. A full wrap (the entire vehicle, including the roof and sometimes the windows) costs more than a partial wrap covering just the sides and back, which in turn costs more than spot graphics — a logo and phone number applied to an otherwise bare van. Vehicle size and body shape matter too; a cargo van with flat panels wraps more easily (and cheaply) than a vehicle with a lot of curves, mirrors, and trim to work around.

Design complexity plays a real role as well. A wrap built from an existing, print-ready brand system goes faster than one that requires building the artwork from scratch, which is part of why wrap design is included in our Full Monster package instead of priced as a separate add-on. Vinyl quality and lamination matter too — a cheaper print without UV-protective laminate fades noticeably faster under direct sun, which matters a lot for vehicles parked outside most of the day.

The ROI Case

The oft-cited figure in the industry traces back to a 2008 study by 3M, which found that vehicle wraps deliver one of the lowest costs per thousand impressions of any advertising medium — well below radio, newspaper, and even most outdoor billboards. The logic is simple: a van you already own and already drive to job sites is advertising space you're not paying extra for every time it moves. Unlike an ad you pay for once and then stop running, a wrap keeps earning impressions for as long as the vehicle is on the road, parked at a job site, or sitting in a customer's driveway.

What That Looks Like in Practice

The Music City Heating & Air van we recently finished is a good example of this in action — a full wrap built around one consistent mascot and color system, designed to read clearly at a glance whether it's parked at a curb or passing on the freeway. You can see it and more of our recent wrap work in our van wrap portfolio.

If you're trying to figure out what a wrap would actually cost for your specific vehicle and brand, that's exactly what a free brand review is for — we'll walk through it with real numbers instead of a rough guess.
